Pharmacy First is a scheme available from participating pharmacies for patients who are suffering from a common ailment and DO NOT pay for their prescriptions. (exempt patients, children and those with pre-payment certificates)
Patients can get advice and treatment for a range of common ailments FREE OF CHARGE from participating pharmacies and no appointment is necessary.

How do I access the service?
There are several ways to access the service including
- self referral at the pharmacy
- referral from your GP practice
- referral from Out of Hours Service or 111
What do I need to take to the pharmacy?
You will need to take the following information with you
- Confirmation of registration with your GP practice
- Evidence of exemption from prescription charges
- Your NHS number if known
