HOW DO I...
DIAL-A-DOC?

This service allows you to make a telephone appointment with the doctor instead of having to visit the surgery.

This will help those at work as well - as the busy housewives!

HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ?

Appointments can be made by contacting reception after 3pm on the day prior. The telephone number is (01538) 753771.

A limited number of urgent appointment slots are kept free. Appointments will also be allocated for young children. These can be booked on the day.

Visits are by appointment only. Appointments are made usually with the doctor of your choosing. However, if that doctor is unavailable you will be offered an appointment with another doctor

Routine appointments can be made up to one month in advance. Please inform us as soon as possible if you cannont keep the appointment.

REFERRALS

When referring you to a consultant, we will hopefully be able to give you an idea of waiting list times. If you wish to see a consultant privately, we can tell you their charges and provide you with their private rooms' telephone number.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN HOME VISITS?

If you are unable to attend the surgery, please ring before 10.00 am Preferably, we would rather see a patient in the surgery where there are all the necessary facilities to fully assess an ill patient.

HOW DO I...
MAKE ENQUIRIES ABOUT TEST RESULTS?

Patients must follow up these results themselves. Please telephone the surgery after 2.30pm. Only patients themselves (or a child's parent) may collect the results. It usually takes three to seven days for blood results to come through. X-ray results take a minimum of two weeks to come back.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN REPEAT PRESCRIBING?

When telephoning for repeat prescriptions (Monday to Friday), ring (01538) 751415 and remember to allow 24 hours for collection. Please note that the surgery is closed every Thursday at 1.00pm. Please also note the dispensary closes daily for lunch between 1.00 and 2.00pm.

DISPENSING

We have provision to dispense to patients who live outside the town boundaries. The Health Service regulations on this matter are strict and this service can only be offered to those patients who register as 'dispensing' when they join the practice or when they move house.
